I just realized the other day that I'd never done a photo of the month for either of these two months, so here they are now! January 28, 2024 - Sunrise on Cornerstone Acres February 26, 2024 - First real snowfall of the year

Instead of posting a "photo of the month" for December, I went through my photos and came up with some of the best (or more interesting) ones from each month - some that I haven't necessarily posted on here, so you'll see some new ones. I've captioned each one with the date they were taken; the caption are at the bottom of each photo.
And though this is a couple of days late, happy new year! It should be Photos of the Month... I have three again :D
The first one is a sunrise on November 10th. The second one is the trees and the grass surrounded by the remainder of an old fence, waiting for snow to fall (November 17th). The third one was the sunset last night, with an old jet contrail stretching across the upwards-pointing ray of sunlight. Seems like this year has so far been flying by. We're already into October... half of me is looking forward to winter, and half of me is wanting the warmer weather to stick around.
But anyway, here's the pick of my September photos! September 26th - Logs piled on a colourful, leaf-carpeted trail leading through the bushes There were a couple photos I wanted to put up, but I decided on one - I'm going to save the other for a year-end collage I'm planning to do.
This flower had such vivid colour! August 26, 2023 It's been a busy week with quite a bit of harvesting going on, but I've finally managed to get this post up. Today I'm just going to do the July photo... hopefully tomorrow I'll manage to pull off a photo dump, because I have a lot of photos I want to share!
For now, here's a picture I took on the evening of July 29th - the moon was almost full, there was a clear sky, and everything lined up perfectly. Well, this ended up being way later than I meant for it to be... sorry to everyone who's been waiting for it!
So, here's our three highlighted photos from June! Top (June 9): One of the most perfect wild roses that I've ever had the privilege of seeing. Middle + Bottom (June 12): The sun shining through the very thick trees and grass one evening. I think I'm going to have to start doing a weekly photo post, because I had so many pictures from May that I wanted to share, that they wouldn't all fit into just a couple of posts. For the monthly highlights, I managed to select a small handful to share, but there will likely be more getting posted on here in the next several days, so keep an eye out! First, I should say that back on May 24, our batch of chicks for the year arrived.
Now I have to back up to May the 5th. The young maple leaves looked really pretty against the sky - especially with the sun in the background like that. Then on May 11th, during a morning "plum-tree photo session" with my sister, we found this small spiderweb in the grass, still dotted with tiny droplets of dew. Finally, on May 12th, the plum tree was in full bloom and I probably took a hundred pictures of it, from quite a few different angles. I was especially pleased with the outcome of the silhouette. (If you look closely at this picture, you can see a moth perched on one of the blossoms.)
There is a never-ending abundance of beauty in God's creation to photograph, and I'm always so thankful to be able to see all these things! Another double-up! This top one was taken on April 17; I think that was the first actual rainstorm we got. (One day at the beginning of April, it was snowing again - but we could see lightning and hear thunder at the same time, which was really weird.) Anyway, I just always think that storm clouds look awfully neat, especially when they're still a little bit off in the distance like that. And another beautiful sunset that we were privileged to see! I took this one just last night. Stay tuned, because our pigs arrived on Saturday, and I'll probably do a post about them sometime this week!
