We started out as Cornerstone Gardens, a family owned and operated vegetable farm. We thank the Lord for providing us with a wonderful property with great soil to grow with.
We began growing our own vegetables in 2004 in a small garden plot in our back yard when we lived in town. In 2008 we moved to a farm near Millet, Alberta and finally had the space to grow enough of our own pesticide free vegetables to supply our family through a whole year. With the widespread use of chemicals on most crops and the proliferation of genetically modified/engineered (GMO/GEO) crops it became extremely important to us to grow our own vegetables for our family.
By 2012 we had expanded our garden to the point where we decided to attend the Leduc Outdoor Farmers Market several times to provide our great tasting produce to others. This went well and our family enjoyed it, so in 2013 we significantly expanded our operation and attended the Leduc Outdoor Farmers Market and Salisbury Farmers Market in Sherwood Park from July to October. In 2014, we approximately doubled the size of our vegetable farm again so that we could better serve our customers and we have been continually expanding our farm since then.
In 2019, along with our decision to supply our produce exclusively through grocery stores, we changed our farm name from Cornerstone Gardens to Cornerstone Acres Ltd. However, Cornerstone Gardens remains one of our registered trade names along with Cornerstone Farms which is what some also refer to us as.
Our products can be found during the summer months in grocery stores in Edmonton, Calgary, Leduc, Beaumont, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, and Fort Saskatchewan Alberta.
